Work modes

Cockpit's top bar shows the same work in four ways, with mission Progress alongside. It appears in Office, Code, and missions. Unavailable modes remain visible but disabled, with a reason, such as no open project or mission.

ModeShortcutWhat it shows
OfficeAlt+1Your team as office characters: who's working and who needs you. Office.
CommandAlt+2Team conversation with project results alongside. The sidebar's Create item opens this view. Command.
CodeAlt+3Project explorer, tabs, editor, and Orchestration panel. Code and files.
TerminalsAlt+4Every agent's terminal, fitted to the screen.
Progress (mission tracking, separate from work modes)Alt+5Mission status, activity, reviews, and dependencies.

Shortcuts work everywhere, even when a terminal has focus. On Mac, use Option instead of Alt. Ctrl+1 through Ctrl+9 remain available to the browser for switching tabs.

Switching modes does not stop or restart agents: terminals stay mounted with their history, and request drafts remain in the input. All four modes and Progress fit on one line on mobile.

#Terminals

The grid adjusts to fit visible terminals, shrinking panels when another member joins. History scrolls inside each terminal. Tabs mode gives one member the full width at a time.

  • Drag a header handle to reorder; focus the handle and use arrow keys for keyboard reordering. Order is saved per mission.
  • Maximize, minimize, and restore from the minimized bar, which remains available with collapsed headers.
  • Terminal display controls layout, columns, font size (10–20 px), and saved workspaces.
  • Quota shows the provider's reported limit and timestamp, checked every 15 seconds. Without a reading, the dialog explains why and offers the native CLI command: /usage for Claude, /status for Codex, /stats model for Gemini CLI.
  • Stopping a process requires a second confirmation within 3 seconds.

#Progress

  • Mission status shows working agents, blocked tasks, deliveries awaiting review, and completed tasks, with links to the right terminal or review. Counts come from mission records and do not guarantee quality. A lost live connection is clearly marked as showing the last received data.
  • Activity includes searchable mission history and team tools. History and recovery.
  • Reviews contains deliveries with diffs, files, hunks, annotations, and decisions.
  • Dependencies shows tasks and their ordering.

Jotta follows mission status: working alongside you, waving when you're needed, giving a thumbs-up for deliveries awaiting review, and celebrating when all tasks finish.
