Get started

macOS

  1. Install Node.js 20 or later with npm from the official page, or use the nvm commands in the Linux guide.

  2. If Git is unavailable, install Apple's command-line tools:

    xcode-select --install

  3. Install Python 3 if python3 --version fails. It must be on PATH as python3.

  4. Run the version and Python module checks from the Linux guide.

  5. Follow Install and start in Terminal.

Use dependencies built for your machine's architecture; do not reuse another computer's node_modules. Check /bin/bash for the default runner. Your account can use zsh without affecting that runner.
